Ruins of Lordaeron no BS Guide: Quests & Location FAST (Horde & Alliance)
If you’re alliance, there’s nothing for you to pick up, all quests are inside the dungeon and all of them are turned in stormwind. Just do the dungeon and you’ll be fine. Jump to the alliance section here if you want more details.
Horde players you have 6 quests and 4 of them need to be picked up in the locations shown below.

Pick up the first four quests before entering. The remaining two start from items found inside the dungeon.

Horde Quest Walkthrough
1. The Wrath of Rath’mael
Where to pick it up: Deathguard Kristof, at the guard camp northeast of Undercity in Tirisfal Glades (65.2, 60.2), near the skinning trainer.
What to do: Kill Rath’mael, the final boss of Ruins of Lordaeron. Return to Deathguard Kristof to complete the quest.
2. A Frightened Request
Where to pick it up: Tabitha Heartweaver at The Sepulcher, Silverpine Forest (44.6, 42.8).
What to do: Find Edward Heartweaver near Rath’mael’s graveyard, toward the western side of the dungeon. Return to Tabitha Heartweaver afterward.
3. Light’s Justice
Where to pick it up: Morbin Lightbane in Undercity (57.8, 89.8).
What to do: Collect 25 Intact Limbs from enemies inside Ruins of Lordaeron. You’ll get these while clearing the dungeon normally, so just remember to loot the mobs.
Turn in: Morbin Lightbane in Undercity.
4. The New Plague
Where to pick it up: Theodore Griffs in The Apothecarium, Undercity (47.0, 72.6). Requires level 16 according to player reports.
What to do: Kill Witherfang, the spider boss inside the dungeon, and loot the Highly Toxic Strain.
Turn in: Theodore Griffs in Undercity.
5. Unending Torment
Where to pick it up: This quest starts inside the dungeon. Kill The Baron, the abomination boss, and loot the Abominable Head.
What to do: Right-click the Abominable Head in your inventory to start Unending Torment. Follow the quest instructions back to Undercity, where the chain involves Master Apothecary Faranell.
6. Crest of Lordaeron
Where to pick it up: Inside Ruins of Lordaeron. The Crest of Lordaeron is a hidden item that can appear in different locations.
What to do: Find the crest, interact with it, and use the item in your inventory to start the quest. Check these five reported spawn locations:
- Spider area: Outside wall of a tower near the spider boss.
- Abomination area: Behind the closed crypt door to the right of The Baron’s arena. Opening it releases a Banshee.
- Gargoyle area: Outside tower wall near the gargoyles along Bjork’s patrol route.
- Bjork patrol area: On a wall inside a bar-like building near Bjork.
- Between Bjork and Rath’mael: On the floor at the bottom of a tower.
Turn in: Oran Snakewrithe in the Magic Quarter of Undercity (73.3, 32.6).
Tip: The crest doesn’t always appear behind the Banshee door. If it’s not there, check the other locations.
Alliance Quest Walkthrough
Just so you know, there’s no quest to pick up OUTSIDE this dungeon. All of them are inside this dungeon. Save yourself time, you don’t need to read this guide and just go to stormwind to turn them in after you finish each quest.
1. Abominable Creatures
Where to pick it up: Captain Truman, an Alliance-friendly NPC near the entrance of Ruins of Lordaeron, inside the dungeon. Requires level 16.
What to do: Kill The Baron, the abomination boss found in the King’s Alley section of the dungeon, and loot the Head of the Baron.
Turn in: Return to Captain Truman near the dungeon entrance.
2. Bloodied Insignia
Where to pick it up: This quest starts from a Bloodied Insignia dropped by undead enemies inside Ruins of Lordaeron. Requires level 16.
What to do: Loot the first Bloodied Insignia and use it to start the quest. Collect a total of 10 Bloodied Insignias from undead enemies as you clear the dungeon.
Turn in: General Marcus Jonathan in Stormwind City.
3. Remember That I Love You
Where to pick it up: Find the Blood-Stained Letter near Rath’mael, the final boss of Ruins of Lordaeron. Requires level 15.
What to do: Interact with the letter to collect it and start Remember That I Love You. Make sure you pick it up before leaving the final boss area.
Turn in: Orphan Matron Nightingale in Stormwind City.
4. Crest of Lordaeron
Where to pick it up: Find the hidden Crest of Lordaeron somewhere inside the dungeon. The crest can appear in multiple locations and is not always in the same spot.
What to do: Find and interact with the crest to obtain the quest item. Check these five reported spawn locations:
- Spider area: Outside wall of a tower near the spider boss.
- Abomination area: Behind the closed crypt door to the right of The Baron’s arena. Opening it releases a Banshee.
- Gargoyle area: Outside tower wall near the gargoyles along Bjork’s patrol route.
- Bjork patrol area: On a wall inside a bar-like building near Bjork.
- Between Bjork and Rath’mael: On the floor at the bottom of a tower.
Turn in: Lady Dena Kennedy in Stormwind City.
